How to connect your domain with hosting

Overview

After purchasing your hosting and domain, the next step is to connect them together so your website can go live.
This process is called updating your domain’s nameservers to point to your hosting account.

You can do this easily through your HostCMT client portal: my.hostcmt.com.

Step 1: Log in to Your HostCMT Client Portal

Visit ???? https://my.hostcmt.com

  • Click Login and enter your email and password.

  • Go to Services → My Services to find your hosting package.

Step 2: Get Your Hosting Nameservers

  • Click on your Hosting Product/Service Name.

  • Inside the product details page, scroll to find your Nameservers.
Usually, HostCMT nameservers look like this:

ns1.hostcmt.com ns2.hostcmt.com

Tip: Always copy them exactly as shown, without extra spaces or dots.

Step 3: Go to “My Domains”

  • From the top menu, click Domains → My Domains.

  • Find the domain you want to connect.

  • Click the “Manage Domain” button on the right side.

Step 4: Update the Nameservers

  • Inside the domain management page, click Nameservers tab.

  • Select “Use custom nameservers”.

  • Enter the nameservers you copied earlier:

    ns1.hostcmt.com ns2.hostcmt.com
  • Click Save Changes.

Your domain is now pointed to your HostCMT hosting server.

Step 5: Wait for DNS Propagation

It can take up to 24–48 hours for the DNS changes to fully update worldwide.
During this time, your website may not load everywhere immediately — this is normal.

You can check propagation status using tools like:
https://dnschecker.org

Step 6: Verify Connection

After propagation:

  • Visit your domain (e.g., yourdomain.com) in a browser.

  • If your website or hosting welcome page appears — connection is successful.

  • If not, clear your browser cache or wait a few more hours.

Alternative: Domain Registered Elsewhere

If your domain is registered with another provider (like Namecheap, GoDaddy, or Porkbun):

  • Log in to their control panel.

  • Find the Nameservers section.

  • Replace the existing nameservers with HostCMT’s ones:

    ns1.hostcmt.com ns2.hostcmt.com
  • Save and wait for propagation.

Common Issues

Problem Possible Cause Solution
